CONTRACT2HIRE eDiscovery Project Manager New York, New York | United States Contract To Hire Our client, a leading law firm, is seeking an experienced eDiscovery Project Manager for a contract-to-hire opportunity. The Project Manager will oversee complex electronic discovery matters from initiation through completion, serving as a primary point of contact for case teams and providing strategic and technical guidance across the EDRM lifecycle. Responsibilities include managing project workflows, vendors, budgets, reporting, and quality control. The ideal candidate brings deep hands-on RelativityOne experience, strong knowledge of TAR and analytics, and practical experience using generative AI tools within legal or eDiscovery workflows. The firm currently utilizes RelativityOne and Relativity aiR; prior aiR experience is not required. This is a highly collaborative, client-facing opportunity for an eDiscovery professional who can manage multiple sophisticated matters while improving efficiency, controlling costs, and leveraging emerging technology. This is a hybrid position requiring three days per week in the New York office. Responsibilities Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned projects and maintain consistent communication with case teams, forensic professionals, internal colleagues, and eDiscovery vendors Partner with case teams to assess eDiscovery requirements and develop appropriate project plans, using technology to improve efficiency and reduce costs while meeting legal and regulatory obligations Oversee, coordinate, and monitor project workflows and progress from initiation through completion Provide case teams and management with regular updates regarding project status, budgets, risks, and potential delays, escalating issues proactively and implementing mitigation strategies as needed Develop customized reports that provide stakeholders with a clear view of project status, progress, and relevant metrics Follow established departmental workflows, procedures, policies, and requirements Coordinate with internal and external resources to support the collection, processing, review, and production of electronically stored information Advise and train case teams on eDiscovery best practices and the effective use of available technologies and services Perform quality control throughout various project stages to ensure accuracy and completeness and promptly resolve identified issues Develop project cost estimates, oversee budgets, and support the vendor Statement of Work process Coordinate and manage services performed by outside vendors and software providers, including troubleshooting, negotiations, oversight, and vendor relationship management Support monthly billing activities by reviewing vendor invoices, resolving discrepancies, and preparing billing-related reports and data Oversee storage associated with eDiscovery applications and systems Maintain detailed project documentation, reports, and tracking logs Work closely with eDiscovery and IT teams on software and hardware upgrades, technical troubleshooting, and workflow enhancements Track and maintain physical and electronic media and assist with packaging and shipping media when required Support departmental administrative responsibilities and special projects as needed Partner with department leadership to identify and implement improvements to processes, documentation, and reporting that strengthen service quality and client satisfaction Assist case teams with evaluating database archival options and ensure databases are appropriately decommissioned Stay current on eDiscovery platforms, tools, industry developments, innovations, and emerging technologies Qualifications Bachelor's degree Several of experience in legal technology or eDiscovery support Some years of hands-on Relativity or RelativityOne experience, including search design and workflow configuration Some practical experience with AI tools such as Copilot, Harvey, Claude, or comparable technologies Experience using Relativity technology-assisted review, analytics tools, and protocols such as CAL/CMML to improve review efficiency and quality Required certifications include Relativity Certified Administrator (RCA), Relativity Project Management Specialist, RelativityOne Certified Pro, Relativity Generative AI Pro, and Relativity Analytics Specialist Strong knowledge of the litigation lifecycle, eDiscovery protocols, and industry best practices from preservation through trial Demonstrated commitment to providing excellent service to internal and external clients Ability to quickly learn and become proficient with new technologies, platforms, and workflows Excellent project management, planning, and organizational skills with strong attention to detail Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities Proactive approach with a high degree of ownership and accountability for project outcomes Ability to adapt to changing priorities, tight deadlines, and multiple simultaneous projects Excellent written and verbal communication, negotiation, and client management skills Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to individuals with varying levels of technical knowledge Strong proficiency with eDiscovery tools and services, including RelativityOne, structured analytics, active learning, batching workflows, and forensic collection processes Experience managing multiple data types, including email, mobile device data, chat data, and other electronic sources throughout the EDRM lifecycle The firm utilizes RelativityOne and Relativity aiR, though prior hands-on experience with Relativity aiR is not required Availability to respond to emails and calls outside standard business hours when necessary, including evenings, weekends, and holidays Ability to travel off-site as needed based on project and firm requirements Upon conversion to a permanent position, the expected salary for this exempt role is $130,000-$170,000, commensurate with experience, training, skills, qualifications, and other market factors. #LI-HYBRID #LI-MS1 Job ID: 7600
