Full-Time | Salaried PositionSunrise Asphalt Services is a growing Oʻahu-based asphalt and sport court contractor seeking a motivated, dependable individual to join our team as an Estimator / Operations Coordinator.We specialize in asphalt paving and maintenance, sealcoating, asphalt repairs, and sport court construction and resurfacing for commercial properties, HOAs, schools, general contractors, and other organizations throughout Oʻahu.We are looking for more than someone to simply prepare estimates. We want someone who can learn our business, earn the trust of our crews and customers, and gradually take ownership of important parts of our estimating and day-to-day operations.This is a long-term position with significant opportunity to grow as the company grows.What You'll DoYou will work directly with the owner and assist with both estimating and operations, including:Conducting jobsite visits and evaluating project conditionsMeasuring asphalt, concrete, sealcoating, and sport court workPreparing takeoffs, quantities, and estimatesAssisting with proposals and project scopesCommunicating with customers, property managers, general contractors, suppliers, and subcontractorsHelping coordinate project schedules, materials, equipment, and crewsPerforming pre-job site visits and identifying potential problems before work beginsAssisting with project handoffs from estimating to productionChecking active projects and helping keep work organized and on scheduleTracking changes in scope and additional workHelping improve estimating, scheduling, and operating systems as the company growsYou will not be expected to know everything on day one. The right person will spend time learning how we estimate, build, schedule, and execute our projects.Who We're Looking ForThe right person is:Dependable and punctualOrganized and detail-orientedComfortable working both in the field and in an office environmentAble to communicate professionally with customers and crewsComfortable using computers, email, spreadsheets, plans, and estimating softwareAble to make decisions and solve problems without needing constant directionWilling to learn construction estimating and field operationsComfortable taking responsibility and being held accountableRespectful of experienced field employees and willing to earn their trustInterested in building a career rather than simply filling a positionConstruction experience is strongly preferred.
