Role Description This is a full-time, on-site SAP ABAP Consultant role based in Chennai. The consultant will design, develop, test, and maintain SAP ABAP programs and enhancements, including reports, interfaces, conversions, forms, and workflows. Day-to-day work includes analyzing business requirements, creating technical specifications, implementing solutions, and performing unit and integration testing within SAP modules. The role also involves troubleshooting issues, optimizing existing code, collaborating with functional consultants and business stakeholders, and ensuring adherence to coding standards and best practices. The consultant will support production environments, participate in system upgrades and implementations, and document technical solutions for ongoing maintenance and knowledge sharing.
Qualifications

Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in SAP ABAP development, including classic and object-oriented ABAP, reports, BAPIs, BADIs, user exits, and enhancement frameworks.
- Experience with SAP interfaces and integration technologies (IDocs, RFCs, Web Services, APIs) and working across relevant SAP modules (such as MM, SD, FI/CO).
- Knowledge of SAP data structures and performance optimization techniques, including SQL tuning, debugging, and code review.
- Familiarity with SAP forms and output management (Smart Forms, Adobe Forms, SAP Scripts) and workflow-related developments.
- Ability to translate functional requirements into technical designs, prepare clear documentation, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field; relevant SAP certifications are an advantage.
- Prior experience as an SAP ABAP Consultant in implementation, support, or upgrade projects; exposure to Agile or similar delivery methodologies is beneficial.
