Portfolio Accountant / Senior Portfolio Accountant Chicago, IL | River North | On-Site $85,000 - $100,000 + 20% Bonus

A well-established commercial real estate owner/operator is seeking a Portfolio Accountant or Senior Portfolio Accountant to join its growing accounting team. This position offers exposure to a diverse portfolio of retail, office, multifamily, hospitality, restaurant, and mixed-use properties, along with strong long-term growth potential.
ResponsibilitiesManage general ledger accounting and month-end closePrepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statementsPerform daily cash management and bank reconciliationsComplete CAM and real estate tax reconciliationsAssist with budgeting, forecasting, and lender reportingMaintain lease and tenant information in YardiPartner with property management, legal, construction, leasing, AP, and AR teams
Qualifications2 to 5 years of accounting experienceBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, or related fieldExperience with general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial reportingStrong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
PreferredCommercial real estate accounting experienceYardi experienceCAM reconciliation experienceCPA or CPA candidateKnowledge of GAAP and tax accounting
