Customer Service Representative
CornerStone Technology Talent Services · Phoenix, United States
Job Description
CornerStone TTS is recruiting Customer Service Representatives to support individuals and families affected by natural disasters. English-speaking and bilingual English/Spanish opportunities are available.
Location: Phoenix, Arizona — remote. Tucson applicants may also be considered. Arizona candidates must be able to meet local equipment pickup and training requirements; logistics will be confirmed during recruiting.
Employment: Direct hire with our client; full-time, seasonal, non-exempt. Estimated duration: 3–5 months. Extensions or permanent employment are not guaranteed.
Pay: $18.35/hour base plus a separate $4.93/hour health-and-welfare supplement. English-only and bilingual roles have the same pay. The supplement is separate from base wages; its treatment will be explained during the recruiting process.
Responsibilities
• Answer inbound calls from disaster survivors and assist with disaster-assistance registration and intake.
• Explain available programs, required documentation, and next steps.
• Support application follow-up, helpline questions, and casework functions.
• Accurately enter caller information into approved systems.
• Follow authentication, confidentiality, privacy, and security procedures.
• Handle sensitive conversations with patience, empathy, and professionalism.
• Meet attendance, schedule adherence, call quality, and productivity expectations.
Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED.
• Approximately one year of customer-facing service experience. Retail, restaurant, hospitality, front desk/reception, security, and other customer-facing backgrounds are welcome. Previous call-center experience is helpful but not required.
• Strong communication and basic computer skills, including accurate data entry and using multiple applications.
• At least 18 years old and a U.S. citizen, as required by the program.
• Willingness to complete required federal background and suitability screening, including a financial review through authorized screening providers.
• For bilingual positions, fluent written and spoken English and Spanish. English-only opportunities are also available.
• Previous disaster-response employment is not required.
Schedule and training
Candidates should be ready to begin onboarding and training within approximately 7–10 days, subject to required approvals and class availability. Training may begin on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday and includes onboarding, certification activities, and approximately five additional training days. Actual class dates and hours will be confirmed during recruiting. Full attendance without conflicting appointments or planned absences is required.
Production schedules are assigned according to operational needs and may change weekly. Operations can run 24/7; candidates must be able to accommodate varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and possible overnights. Arizona employees may receive later shifts. Overtime is not typical and is not guaranteed.
Hiring process
The regular online skills assessment is waived for English-only candidates during this hiring surge. Bilingual candidates complete a separate language proficiency assessment later in the process. All hires remain subject to required screening, approvals, written offer, and onboarding.
Apply with your resume. Please include your current city, contact number, earliest availability, any shifts or days you cannot work, upcoming training conflicts, and whether you speak both English and Spanish. Start dates depend on required approvals, equipment coordination, and training availability. Applications will be reviewed by CornerStone TTS before the next conversation is arranged. No employment offer is guaranteed by applying.
