Basketball & Tennis Coach | School Sports Coach

Key Responsibilities

Basketball & Tennis Coaching

• Conduct regular basketball and tennis coaching sessions for students across different age groups and skill levels.
• Teach fundamental and advanced techniques, rules, tactics, game strategies, and match preparation.
• Plan structured training sessions based on students' age, ability, and development level.
• Develop students' physical fitness, agility, coordination, endurance, and sports-specific skills.
• Identify students with potential for competitive sports and provide focused training.

Competitions & Events

• Prepare students for inter-house, inter-school, district, and other sports competitions.
• Organize and coordinate basketball and tennis tournaments, matches, leagues, and sporting events.
• Support students during competitions, matches, practices, and sports tours where required.
• Assist with school sports days, assemblies, exhibitions, and other co-curricular events.

Student Development

• Monitor student performance and maintain appropriate progress records.
• Provide individual feedback and coaching support to help students improve.
• Encourage teamwork, leadership, discipline, resilience, fair play, and sportsmanship.
• Promote healthy lifestyle habits, physical wellness, and positive attitudes toward sports.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive, and encouraging environment for all students.

School Collaboration

• Collaborate with the PE department and other sports coaches to support the school's overall sports programme.
• Contribute to school-wide physical education and wellness initiatives.
• Communicate appropriately with students, parents, teachers, and school leadership regarding student progress and participation.
• Ensure proper use, maintenance, and safe handling of sports equipment and facilities.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, Sports Management, Physical Activity, or a related field .
• Formal coaching certification in basketball and/or tennis will be an advantage.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant coaching experience preferred , particularly in a school or youth sports environment.
• Demonstrated practical knowledge of basketball and tennis coaching techniques, rules, drills, and match strategies .
• Experience coaching children or school-age students is preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom/group management skills.
• Passion for sports, youth development, and student wellbeing.
