Software Engineer
Infinite Outdoors · Denver, United States
Job Description
About Infinite Outdoors
Infinite Outdoors is the leading access platform connecting hunters, anglers, and outdoor enthusiasts with private landowners across 18+ states. Since launching in 2020, we’ve grown to 600+ properties, and we’re just getting started. Our small, high-impact engineering team builds the mobile apps and platform infrastructure that make it easy for people to discover, book, and enjoy outdoor adventures on private land.
About the Role
We’re looking for a Software Engineer to join our engineering team and take ownership of major features across our stack. You’ll work directly with David (CTO) to ship products that directly impact our users, from mobile apps to backend services to mapping and geospatial features. This is a high-autonomy role where you’ll have real influence on technical decisions and product direction.
What You’ll Do
- Design, build, and ship features across our web (Next.js/React) and mobile (Swift, Kotlin) applications
- Own significant portions of our backend architecture, including GCP services, APIs, and data pipelines
- Implement and improve geospatial features including interactive maps (Mapbox), satellite imagery overlays, geofencing, and property boundary tools
- Build and optimize booking, payment, and availability systems that handle complex scheduling and checkout experiences
- Collaborate on infrastructure and DevOps — CI/CD pipelines, monitoring (Sentry), and performance optimization
- Integrate third-party services such as weather/water data providers, identity verification, and voice agent platforms
- Mentor junior engineers and establish engineering best practices as the team grows
What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Strong proficiency in at least two of: TypeScript/JavaScript, Swift/SwiftUI, Kotlin
- Experience building and shipping production web and mobile apps (Next.js, iOS, and/or Android)
- Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure (GCP or AWS) and serverless architectures
- Experience with payment integrations (Stripe preferred) and complex booking/scheduling logic
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work autonomously and make sound technical decisions with minimal oversight
- Clear communicator who can translate technical decisions for non-technical stakeholders
Nice to Have
- Experience at an early-stage startup or on a small, scrappy engineering team
- Background with real-time databases (Firestore NoSQL database)
- Interest in outdoor recreation, hunting, fishing, or conservation
- Experience with CI/CD tooling, automated testing, and DevOps practices
- Familiarity with satellite imagery services or advanced GIS tools
What We Offer
- Competitive salary and equity in a fast-growing startup approaching Series A
- Hybrid work environment in Golden, CO
- Direct impact on product and architecture
- A collaborative, low-ego team that values ownership and craftsmanship
- Access to our network of properties for hunting, fishing, and recreation
- Opportunity to help build the defining platform for outdoor recreation on private land
