Why is this open: Need a mid-level marklogic individual to help support the efficient use of their current CMS system.
Mission: To help develop complex queries/data sets as a mid-level marklogic engineer.
Day to Day: Independently research and develop complex queries/data sets as a mid level marklogic engineer. This person will be responsible for below:Technical Expertise – Working knowledge of NoSQL/document-oriented database design, XQuery, and MarkLogic platform capabilities.Problem Solving – Ability to diagnose and resolve database performance and reliability issues.Attention to Detail – Precision in schema design, query logic, change management, and compliance documentation.Collaboration – Effective partner to development, operations, and compliance teams with a team-first mindset.Communication – Able to translate technical concepts for varied audiences through clear written and verbal communication.Security Mindset – Proactive approach to database security, audit readiness, and compliance with industry standards.Adaptability – Comfortable navigating ambiguity and evolving priorities in a dynamic technical environment.
Must Haves: 2+ years minimum experience of hand-on Marklogic Server– specifically developing queries, working to import and export data, writing code, and working with large sets of data.Experience with MarkLogic indexing, search configuration, and query optimization.Previous experience in/background with database engineering or data platform engineering roles.Experience with XQuery and/or Server-Side JavaScript (SJS).Experience with Data ingestion frameworks (MLCP, Data Hub Framework, or equivalent).Experience implementing or supporting security controls including RBAC, element-level permissions, and encryption.Exp with other NoSQL databases like Hadoop, MongoDB.
Pluses:Experience with document-oriented, metadata-driven, or semantic data platforms.Experience working in CI/CD environments with automated deployment pipelines.Experience with REST APIs, search APIs, and integration patterns involving MarkLogic.Experience supporting compliance frameworks such as SOC 2 or ISO 27001.Experience with cloud-hosted MarkLogic deployments (Azure).Familiarity with relational databases and hybrid architectures
