This hands on, shift-based role involves providing guidance and support to a team of Engineers working across our busy Production and Distribution plant. Acting as a key point of contact alongside the Department Manager, youll assist when complex electrical or mechanical maintenance issues arise that engineers cannot resolve independently.The position calls for strong fault finding and problem-solving abilities, along with a proactive, self-motivated approach. As the role involves working with a variety of machinery, an electrical bias is essential.The role:To support the Engineering Manager in delivering departmental goalsEffectively utilising team skills; supervising, training and mentoring staff via practical instructionCoordinating and delivering planned, preventative maintenance schedulesThe repairing and testing of electrical and mechanical plant equipmentFault findingAssistance with office work, paperwork and record keepingMentoring of Apprenticeship candidates where applicableDeputising for the Engineering ManagerHoliday cover for Engineers and support staffEquipment breakdown call-out on a rota basisCandidate requirements:A minimum of an electrical based, apprenticeship qualificationExperience of high-speed machinery, ideally within an FMCG industryExperience of working with automated machineryAbility to electrical fault find to a high standardAbility to work with minimum supervisionTo be self-motivated and able to adapt to changing prioritiesTo complete tasks in a timely manner and deliver a high standard of workAbility to work flexibility to cover shifts and work to tight deadlinesA strong communicator able to foster and maintain excellent working relationshipsExperience of supervision and people management.Whats in it for you:Competitive salary with opportunities for development22 days holiday plus bank holidays (increasing with service)Company pension schemeHealth and wellbeing support through Simply HealthDiscounted products & doorstep delivery
