Major Responsibilities

• Manage overall laboratory operations covering testing of concrete, soil, aggregates, steel and other construction materials.
• Maintain the laboratory's NABL accreditation and ensure ongoing compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 requirements.
• Oversee calibration, maintenance and validation of laboratory testing equipment and instruments.
• Review, verify and approve laboratory test reports prior to issuance to clients.
• Plan and manage laboratory staffing, workload allocation and technician training.
• Coordinate with clients and project teams on testing requirements, schedules and report turnaround.
• Lead internal and external NABL audits and drive closure of audit observations/non-conformances.
• Implement and maintain the laboratory's quality management system (QMS) documentation.
• To develop new testing as per relevant IS standards
• Plan, implement and control the cost budget in the area of responsibility in cooperation with his/her superior and manage activities in case of deviations
• Build up client relations with major accounts / potentials.
• Organize dedicated PR and Marketing events foreseen in budget.

Criteria for Performance Evaluation (KPIs)

• Sustained NABL accreditation with zero major non-conformances in audits.
• Accuracy and turnaround time of test reports.
• Compliance with equipment calibration and QMS requirements.
• Achievement of laboratory revenue, sales, OP and utilization targets.
• Client relationship – Retention and Growth.
• Cost Optimization
• Account receivables and manage cash flow.
• Compliance of internal and external guidelines, policies, procedures.
• Internal and external customer service satisfaction (e.g. number of complaints)
• Development and management of resources

Qualification and Experience

• Graduate in Civil Engineering with a minimum of 15 years of overall experience in material testing, including at least 5 years managing a NABL accredited testing laboratory.
• Work experience in NABL Accredited Labs preferred.

Skills & Qualities:

• Strong knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 and NABL accreditation requirements.
• Proficiency in laboratory quality management systems and documentation.
• Eye for detail - in reviewing test data and reports.
• Firmness in enforcing testing protocols and audit discipline.
