NOC Technical Support Specialist

Contract Role

3 days on, 3 days off, 3 days on, 4 days off

Brooklyn, NY

Under general supervision, this position will perform duties focused on reported incidents.

The responsibilities of this position includes triaging, troubleshooting, and resolution of events related to 9-1-1 call processing and network monitoring utilizing provided software tool sets.

The position also includes escalation and outage reporting within identified timeframes.

Solutions supported include Windows Desktops, Windows Servers, Linux Servers, networking devices (switches, routers and firewalls) and application and operating system software.

The position is part of a 7x24x365 mission critical operation located at a customer facility supporting public safety.

Basic Requirements:

• Minimum of a high school diploma
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S.

Qualifications:

• 1+ years of technical support experience in a customer-facing IT service organization
• Microsoft Windows 10 Operating System (OS) support experience
• Remote or virtual machine support experience is a plus
• RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 8.x experience is a plus
• Network Monitoring System experience with systems such as Solarwinds, ScienceLogic, or similar platforms
• Experience with endpoint administration for security, patch, and backup management
• Use of an IT Service Management Tool (ITSM) such as ServiceNow or Remedy for incident, problem, and change management
• Exceptional written, listening and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while always remaining level-headed and professional
• Must be able to work in a rotating shift environment such as four tens/three twelves either on day or night shift
• Must be able to work local and major holidays as part of a rotating shift environment
