We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Collections Specialist to join a growing team in Boca Raton, FL. The Collections Specialist will be responsible for managing outstanding accounts, communicating with customers regarding past-due balances, resolving billing discrepancies, and helping maintain accurate accounts receivable records.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of accounts and monitor outstanding and past-due balances

• Contact customers via phone and email regarding outstanding invoices and payment status

• Review accounts receivable aging reports and prioritize collection efforts

• Research and resolve billing discrepancies, short payments, disputes, and account issues

• Negotiate payment arrangements and follow up on payment commitments

• Maintain detailed documentation of collection activities and customer communications

• Reconcile customer accounts and research unapplied or missing payments

• Partner with Accounting, Accounts Receivable, Sales, and Customer Service teams to resolve account issues

• Escalate severely delinquent or high-risk accounts as appropriate

• Assist with month-end accounts receivable reporting and account cleanup

• Maintain positive customer relationships while effectively collecting outstanding balances

Requirements

Qualifications

• 2+ years of collections, accounts receivable, or related accounting experience preferred

• Business-to-business collections experience is a plus

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Excellent customer service and negotiation skills

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

• Ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities in a deadline-driven environment

• Comfortable researching and resolving account discrepancies

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel

• Experience with accounting, collections, or ERP software preferred

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is a plus
