Job Description
Business Development Lead – Government & Enterprise (Consultative / Concept Selling) Experience: 8–17+ years (indicative) |Reports to: Founders | Function: Business Development / Strategic Sales |Type: Full-time Level: Individual Contributor (IC), evolving into a closing role with founders
About the Role We're looking for a Business Development professional who can open doors at the highest levels of government and large enterprises, and translate those relationships into strategic deals. This is fundamentally a
consultative, concept-and-strategy-selling
role — the person needs to sell ideas, frameworks, and points of view, and build trust with ministries, senior bureaucrats, and enterprise leadership, well before any commercial conversation happens. This is an individual contributor role to start — the person will personally drive relationships and pipeline — with a close, hands-on working relationship with the founders as deals mature toward closure. Key Responsibilities Build and manage relationships with ministries, government departments, and senior public-sector officials Identify, engage, and develop enterprise segment accounts as a parallel pipeline Sell
concepts, frameworks, and strategic points of view
rather than pitching a fixed, pre-packaged product Navigate long, multi-stakeholder government and enterprise sales cycles with patience and structure Work closely with founders to shape deal strategy and bring senior conversations to closure Translate high-level relationships into structured opportunities, proposals, and eventually signed engagements Act as the face of the organization in rooms with secretaries, senior officials, and CXOs What We're Looking For Proven experience in
consultative / concept selling
— someone who has sold ideas, frameworks, or strategic recommendations, not just products or services off a price list Background from a
consulting firm
(strategy, management, or policy consulting) is strongly preferred, since this role requires selling concepts and strategy rather than a defined product Strong existing network within
government/ministries
and senior public-sector circles is a major plus Comfortable operating in
enterprise segment
sales alongside government relationships Not
looking for candidates from a pure tech/fintech product-sales background — that sales motion (feature-led, demo-driven, shorter cycle) is a different skill set from what this role needs Executive presence — credible in a room with ministers, secretaries, and CXOs Self-starter who can operate independently as an IC while staying closely aligned with founders on strategy Ideal Candidate Profile Prior experience in a strategy/policy consulting firm, or a govt-relations/public-sector advisory role Track record of building and sustaining relationships with government bodies (state or central) Experience navigating public procurement, policy-linked initiatives, or govt-enterprise partnerships Comfortable with long sales cycles (6–18+ months) and multiple stakeholder layers Prior founder-facing or leadership-facing role, used to close collaboration with senior leadership
