The Dark Store Manager will be responsible for managing end-to-end warehouse and fulfillment operations while ensuring exceptional customer experience through operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Management
- Manage daily dark store operations including receiving, put-away, picking, packing, and dispatch.
- Ensure timely order fulfillment and adherence to delivery SLAs.
- Monitor order flow and optimize operational efficiency.
- Drive process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce operational bottlenecks.
Inventory & Quality Control
- Maintain high inventory accuracy through cycle counts and audits.
- Ensure proper stock rotation (FIFO/FEFO) and inventory hygiene.
- Minimize shrinkage, damages, expiries, and stock discrepancies.
- Monitor stock availability and coordinate replenishment requirements.
Team Leadership
- Lead, train, and manage store associates, pickers, and packers.
- Prepare shift rosters and manpower plans.
- Track team performance and drive productivity improvements.
- Foster a culture of accountability, ownership, and operational excellence.
Performance & Compliance
- Track KPIs including order accuracy, fulfillment time, inventory accuracy, and productivity.
- Ensure adherence to SOPs, safety standards, and compliance requirements.
- Maintain cleanliness, security, and operational readiness of the dark store.
- Prepare operational reports and share performance insights with leadership.
Requirements
- 3–6 years of experience in warehouse, retail, quick commerce, logistics, or dark store operations.
- Experience managing teams in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Strong understanding of inventory management and fulfillment processes.
- Proficiency with WMS, inventory tools, Excel, and operational dashboards.
- Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays when required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Operations, Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field.
- Experience in quick-commerce, e-commerce fulfillment, or grocery operations.
- Familiarity with SLA-driven fulfillment environments.
