Lead the delivery of four new borough-based jails in New York City. Our client is hiring a Project Manager in New York, NY to run an onsite design-build project team as part of the effort to replace Rikers Island.
The RoleThis is a full-time, onsite Construction Project Manager position. You will lead the project team on the ground and keep the work on design, on budget, and on schedule.You will work with the construction contractor on practical, cost-effective plans and administer agreements. You will review schedules, payments, and budget projections, and you will review or approve change order requests. You will also keep clear records on contracts, drawings, correspondence, permits, and regulatory compliance.You will walk the sites to check progress, quality, and compliance with project specifications. You will also set the tone on safety, especially around contractor work activities.
The ImpactPublic infrastructure at this scale changes a city. You will be the connection between the client, subcontractors, and your own team, and your decisions will shape how a major piece of New York City construction gets built.Our client values long tenure and stability. QualificationsBachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field15+ years on construction projects of varying complexity, including 7+ years in a leadership roleProven record leading large-scale high-rise construction projectsExperience leading complex projects under both traditional and design-build deliveryExperience working with New York City public agenciesSolid command of construction management software, project management tools, and Microsoft OfficeStrong communication, negotiation, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills
