Job Description <p></p><p> Job Description: <br /> Under the direction of a Vascular Interventional Radiologist, vascular technologists perform non-invasive vascular exams in order to assess for vascular disease or disorders. Vascular technologists assist physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide variety of disorders affecting the vascular system. </p><p></p> Education/Skills Required: <ul><li> Must be hold vascular certification by either the ARDMS or ARRT (VS). </li><li> Must have a minimum of 5 years ultrasound experience in a hospital setting, excluding training time. </li><li> Must have minimum of one year experience as a Vascular Technologist. </li><li> Ability to keep informed of best practices and advancements in vascular technology. </li><li> Advanced ability to summarize findings and maintain patient records. </li><li> Requires sufficient sensitivity and interpersonal skills in dealing with apprehensive patients and family in a professional and compassionate manner. </li><li> Requires positive and effective communicating skills for interaction with physicians and staff in any situation. </li><li> Requires the ability to think and act quickly in order to deliver efficient quality care in a variety of stressful situations. </li><li> Must maintain a working knowledge of all ultrasound equipment. </li><li> Must be BLS certified (or obtained within 3 months). </li><li> As applicable, the individual has training/competency in attending to the special needs and/or behaviors appropriate to the age of the patients for which care is being provided. </li></ul>
