Property Controller | Commercial Assets | REMOTE

A successful commercial real estate management firm seeks a Property Controller to oversee a portfolio of assets.

Property Controller will be responsible for overseeing all facets of property accounting and financial reporting for a portfolio of commercial office, industrial and retail properties. In addition, the Controller will have ongoing contact with the principals, senior management, and will interface with property operations, legal, insurance, and certified public accounting firms.

The ideal candidate will have experience and business acumen to reverse inefficiencies, optimize organizational controls, and drive cost savings.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review property-level financial statements for a commercial real estate portfolio.
• Perform month-end close procedures and review of monthly reporting package.
• Prepare CAM and tax reconciliations.
• Prepare, review and analyze property level annual budgets.
• Prepare workpapers and participate in the annual audits.
• Supervise the day-to-day accounting and financial reporting associated with a commercial real estate portfolio.
• Analyze mortgage, partnership, and cash management agreements, as well as commercial leases to determine proper accounting.
• Assist with special projects as needed.

Qualifications:

• BA in Accounting / Finance or relevant discipline.
• 6+ years of experience with property accounting required.
• Proficiency with Yardi or similar real estate accounting software required.
• Exceptional organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize and work in a fast-paced, multi-faceted environment.
• Be able to multi-task and be a team player.

Compensation: Base salary 110,000 – 130,000 plus bonus, 401k match and comprehensive health benefits and other valuable perks.
