Role Description The Director of Operations is a full-time, on-site role based in Jessup, MD, overseeing daily operational activities across purchasing, inventory, warehousing, and distribution of fresh herbs and specialty produce. This role is responsible for optimizing processes, monitoring key performance indicators, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards. The Director of Operations leads and develops cross-functional teams, coordinates schedules and workflows, and collaborates with sales and customer service to meet service level commitments. The role also involves analyzing operational data, implementing continuous improvement initiatives, and supporting strategic planning to enhance efficiency and profitability.
QualificationsStrong operations management skills, including experience overseeing logistics, inventory, and process optimization.Analytical skills to interpret data, track performance metrics, and make data-informed decisions.Team management skills to lead, coach, and motivate staff in a dynamic, time-sensitive environment.Budgeting skills to manage operational costs, forecast needs, and align resources with business goals.Customer service skills to maintain high service standards and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.Experience in produce, food distribution, or related industries is beneficial.Knowledge of warehouse operations, cold-chain management, and safety/compliance practices.Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain, or a related field, or +5 years of equivalent experience. xzbcwsv Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.Bilingual (English- Spanish) preferred
