Data Scientist / Associate Project Manager

About the Role

We are looking for a motivated Data Scientist with 2-3 years of experience who can combine technical expertise with strong client-facing skills. You will work hands-on with AI and data science projects while coordinating directly with customers, gathering requirements, managing project timelines, and ensuring successful delivery. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both hands-on technical work and project ownership.

Key Responsibilities

Data Science & AI

• Analyze structured and unstructured data to generate business insights.
• Build, evaluate, and improve machine learning and AI models.
• Work on NLP, Generative AI, RAG, or LLM-based solutions.
• Prepare datasets, perform feature engineering, and evaluate model performance.
• Develop dashboards, reports, and visualizations to communicate insights.
• Collaborate with engineering teams for model deployment and monitoring.

Project Management

• Act as the primary point of contact for assigned clients.
• Gather business requirements and translate them into technical tasks.
• Coordinate with internal engineering and product teams to ensure timely delivery.
• Track project progress, risks, and dependencies.
• Conduct regular status meetings and provide project updates to stakeholders.
• Ensure projects are delivered within agreed timelines and quality standards.

Client Engagement

• Understand customer business problems and recommend AI-driven solutions.
• Conduct product demonstrations and solution walkthroughs.
• Prepare technical documentation, presentations, and project reports.
• Handle client queries and coordinate issue resolution with internal teams.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships.

Required Skills

Technical: Python, SQL, Machine Learning fundamentals, Data Analysis (Pandas, NumPy), Data Visualization (Power BI/Tableau/Matplotlib), basic NLP or Generative AI, REST APIs, Git.

Project Management: Requirement gathering, stakeholder management, risk tracking, sprint planning and task management, documentation, Agile/Scrum methodology.

Soft Skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills, strong client-facing and stakeholder management abilities, problem-solving mindset, ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, strong ownership and accountability, team player with leadership potential.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with LLMs, RAG, LangChain, or vector databases.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, or similar project management tools.
• Exposure to MLOps concepts and model deployment.
• Basic understanding of Kubernetes or Docker.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Statistics, or a related field.
