Retina Ophthalmology Faculty
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: Approximately three to four clinical days per week in Troy Pay Rate: $667500.00 - $667500.00

Michigan Medicine is seeking a fellowship-trained Academic Vitreoretinal Surgeon to join the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences as a clinical faculty member. Based primarily at the new Troy Center for Specialty Care , this opportunity offers the chance to build and grow a retina practice within one of the nation's leading academic health systems. The ideal candidate will enjoy a predominant clinical practice while remaining connected to a large collaborative retina faculty, educational programs, clinical innovation initiatives, and research opportunities. This role is ideal for a physician who values teamwork, culture, and meaningful academic engagement without a requirement for extensive research obligations.

Opportunity Highlights

  • Join Michigan Medicine's Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences as clinical faculty
  • Practice primarily at the new Troy Center for Specialty Care
  • Develop and expand vitreoretinal services in a growing market
  • New facility featuring 11 exam lanes, advanced imaging, procedure rooms, laser capabilities, and dedicated injection rooms
  • Collaborate with approximately 16 surgical and medical retina faculty members
  • Help teach vitreoretinal and medical retina fellows
  • Opportunity to participate in clinical research, innovation, and quality improvement
  • Shared call model supported by fellows and distributed among retina faculty
  • Guaranteed compensation package with productivity incentive potential
  • Clinical faculty appointments are available at Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor level based on experience and qualifications
