Job Description – Accountant (Tally & GST)

Position: Accountant

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Accountant with strong hands-on knowledge of Tally, purchase accounting, GST , and day-to-day financial operations. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate accounts, processing purchase entries, handling GST-related activities, and supporting the finance team with regular reporting and reconciliations.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain day-to-day accounting records in Tally ERP/Tally Prime.
• Record and verify purchase invoices, sales invoices, expenses, receipts, and payments.
• Handle purchase accounting, including invoice verification and vendor entries.
• Maintain accounts payable and vendor ledgers.
• Perform bank, vendor, and ledger reconciliations.
• Prepare and maintain GST-related records and documentation.
• Assist with GST return preparation and filing, including GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B.
• Verify GSTIN, tax rates, HSN/SAC codes, and input tax credit (ITC) eligibility.
• Reconcile GSTR-2B with purchase records and identify discrepancies.
• Coordinate with vendors regarding invoice and GST-related discrepancies.
• Maintain proper documentation for audits and statutory requirements.
• Assist in monthly closing and preparation of accounting reports.
• Support the senior finance team with other accounting and GST-related activities.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance.
• 3–4 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Strong practical knowledge of Tally ERP/Tally Prime.
• Good knowledge of GST and taxation basics.
• Hands-on experience in purchase accounting and vendor reconciliation.
• Knowledge of GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-2B and ITC reconciliation.
• Good knowledge of MS Excel.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Preferred Candidate

Candidates with experience in GST compliance, purchase accounting, Tally, vendor management, and reconciliation will be preferred.
