SENIOR ESTIMATOR – HEAVY CIVIL / HIGHWAY CONSTRUCTION South Plainfield, NJ | Full-Time

I'm working with a well-established heavy civil and infrastructure contractor seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join its growing team in New Jersey.This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected contractor delivering complex public and private infrastructure projects across the Northeast, with a strong pipeline of work and the opportunity to play a key role in winning major projects.
The RoleYou'll take ownership of estimates from initial project review through final bid submission, working across heavy civil, highway, site preparation, underground utilities, roadway, bridge and asphalt paving projects.
Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare detailed and competitive cost estimates for heavy civil and highway construction projects.Review drawings, specifications, geotechnical reports, addenda and tender documentation.Complete quantity takeoffs, material and labour pricing, and subcontractor and supplier quote analysis.Develop bid strategies, assess project risks and identify cost-saving opportunities.Coordinate with project management, operations, subcontractors and suppliers throughout the bidding process.Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits to assess project requirements.Review DBE, SBE and other applicable public-sector participation requirements.
What We're Looking ForProven estimating experience within heavy civil, highway, infrastructure or utility construction.Experience preparing detailed estimates for public and/or private construction projects.Strong understanding of construction methods, production rates, labour, equipment and material costs.Familiarity with DOT and public agency bidding processes in NJ, NY or PA is highly desirable.Proficiency with estimating software such as HCSS HeavyBid, AGTEK and Bluebeam, or similar platforms.
