Job DescriptionThe Senior Accounts Payable Specialist will perform complex accounts payable activities for a local government organization, supporting accurate, timely, and compliant payment processing. xzbcwsv This role will serve as a senior resource within the AP function, handling escalated invoice issues, vendor inquiries, reconciliations, payment processing, and financial documentation.Review, verify, code, and process high-volume invoices and payment requestsPerform purchase order matching and account reconciliationsResearch and resolve invoice discrepancies, payment issues, and outstanding transactionsServe as a primary contact for vendor and internal department payment inquiriesProcess vendor payments through checks, ACH, and other approved methodsSupport month-end and fiscal year-end close activities and auditsMaintain compliance with accounting, purchasing, and internal control proceduresProvide guidance to AP staff and identify opportunities to improve processes and workflow efficiency
