Role Overview-

Backstage Pass Institute of Gaming and Technology is seeking a talented and experienced 3D Art Mentor to train and mentor aspiring game artists. The ideal candidate will possess strong artistic fundamentals, expertise in industry-standard 3D art pipelines, and a passion for teaching students how to create high-quality assets for games and interactive media.

Key Responsibilities-

• Conduct engaging sessions on 3D game art and asset creation.
• Mentor students on projects, assignments, and portfolio development.
• Guide students through the complete game art production pipeline.
• Evaluate assignments, projects, and practical assessments.
• Develop learning materials and ensure students are equipped with industry-relevant skills.
• Stay updated with current game art trends, tools, and workflows.

Required Skills

Strong knowledge of:

• Human Anatomy
• 3D Modeling (Characters, Props, Vehicles & Environments)
• Digital Sculpting
• UV Mapping & Texturing
• PBR Workflow
• Lighting & Rendering
• Material Creation
• Game Asset Optimization

Software Expertise

• Autodesk Maya
• ZBrush
• Adobe Photoshop
• Substance Painter
• Unreal Engine and/or Unity (asset integration is preferred)

Requirements-

• 3–6 years of experience as a 3D Game Artist, Environment Artist, Character Artist, or Technical Artist .
• Strong understanding of the game art production pipeline and real-time asset creation.
• Experience creating optimized assets for games.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and mentoring skills.
• A strong portfolio showcasing game-ready 3D artwork.
