Fund Manager

We are looking for an equity fund manager who specializes in value-oriented, risk-controlled investing, with a focus on opportunities offering asymmetric payoffs and a well-proven, verifiable track record.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience as a Fund Manager, having independently managed an average AUM of at least ₹500 Cr. They should demonstrate the conviction to hold long-term positions while pursuing outsized risk-adjusted returns, and be equally adept at seizing tactical market opportunities as they arise — delivering superior post-tax, fee-adjusted returns for clients.

Key Responsibilities

Investment Strategy & Portfolio Management

• Design and manage equity portfolios (PMS/AIF mandates) with a focus on long-term compounding, margin of safety, and downside protection.
• Define and execute the fund's investment philosophy, asset allocation, and stock-picking framework.
• Maintain concentrated, high-conviction portfolios built on deep, research-backed ideas.
• Actively rebalance portfolios in response to valuation shifts, business changes, or risk triggers.

Research Leadership & Idea Generation

• Independently generate investment ideas through fundamental research, industry tracking, and valuation analysis.
• Conduct deep dives into balance sheets, annual reports, earnings calls, and channel checks to build robust financial models.
• Lead internal investment discussions, stress-test assumptions, and foster a collaborative research culture.

Risk Management & Compliance

• Monitor portfolio-level risk metrics — sector concentration, position sizing, liquidity, beta, and related measures.
• Ensure compliance with SEBI PMS/AIF regulations and Oaklane's internal risk management framework.
• Implement stop-loss, position-exit, and red-flag protocols where necessary.
• Collaborate with compliance and operations teams to ensure clean execution and audit trails.

Client Communication & Thought Leadership

• Present portfolio rationale, positioning, and updates to clients, RMs, and internal stakeholders.
• Draft investor notes, quarterly commentaries, and periodic thought pieces articulating the fund's strategy and insights.
• Represent the fund in webinars, investor calls, and industry events.
• Uphold Oaklane's values of transparency, clarity, and fiduciary responsibility.

Qualifications & Experience

Education: MBA (Finance), CFA Charterholder, CA, or an equivalent advanced financial credential.

Experience: Minimum 3 years as a Fund Manager in Indian capital markets, with independent management of an average AUM of at least ₹500 Cr.
