Job Description

AM – Fleet Management Fleet management scope: No of vehicles : 250 trucks Type – Bulk and packed, Rigid and semi trailer No of transporter – 12 Business- LPG, Lubes & SFL. Support implementation and maintain PATROM norms (road safety norms) at of heavy goods vehicles. Various transport audit coordination for the company and transporter followed by gap analysis, and action plan monitoring. Support as transport safety fleet manager in establishing the PATROM worthy fleet with timely completion of induction, vetting and safety checks as per business needs Conduct periodic/surprise vehicle inspections and participate in accident/incident investigations and RCA. Drive zero-accident culture across fleet operations Coordinate for policy deployment and system harmonization across all vendor bases (transportation and other vendors) Ensure routine up-keep and regular maintenance of company deployed safety equipment (OBC, IVMS, TX Trailer, etc). KIP monitoring Activities: 1. Fleet Management Manage vehicle induction, acceptance, and commissioning process. Monitor fleet roadworthiness, vehicle compliance, and statutory certifications. Conduct vehicle vetting and Safe-to-Load compliance checks. Maintain and communicate approved vehicle lists. Ensure fleet availability to meet operational requirements. 2. Safety & Compliance Ensure compliance with PATROM, company standards, and local regulations. Conduct periodic and surprise vehicle inspections. Participate in accident/incident investigations and RCA. Implement corrective and preventive actions. Drive zero-accident culture across fleet operations. 3. Transporter Management Coordinate with transporters on fleet compliance and performance. Conduct transporter reviews and improvement meetings. Validate adherence to vehicle maintenance and inspection schedules. Support transporter audits and action-plan closure. 4. KPI & Performance Management Monitor transportation KPIs. Track fleet utilization, breakdowns, compliance, and safety performance. Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly fleet reports. Identify cost-saving and fleet optimization opportunities. Accountabilities 100% road transport safety rules (PATROM) compliance. Zero major fleet-related incidents. Fleet availability and roadworthiness. OBC/IVMS compliance and effectiveness. Reduction in driving violations per 1,000 km. Timely closure of audit findings and corrective actions Qualifications: Graduate in Engineering Engineering/Science background, 5-10 years' experience in fleet/logistics operations. Preference from Oil and Gas industry, hazardous cargo, chemical industry. Skill Sets required: Analytical ability, Good interpersonal and communication abilities, Advanced knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint, Customer service-driven attitude. Good ability to manage work under high pressure. Experience : Knowledge of transport regulations, fleet safety systems, Transport digital instrument, Logistics industry & its key trends. Location : Mangalore. Language : Tamil, Hindi.
