Job Description Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents. Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates. Solicit, analyze, and compare subcontractor and supplier proposals. Develop comprehensive bid packages and project budgets. Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and project risks. Maintain accurate estimating databases and historical cost records. Collaborate with project teams during preconstruction and project handoff. Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client presentations as needed. Support value engineering efforts and alternative pricing exercises. Ensure estimates are completed accurately and within required deadlines. The Successful Applicant A successful Building and Construction Estimator should have: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred. 3+ years of estimating experience within commercial construction. Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry pricing. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications. Experience with estimating software and Microsoft Office applications. Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and interpersonal abilities. Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously.
