Emergency Veterinarian
Tempus Veterinary Recruitment · Davenport, FL, Polk County, FL; Florida, United States
Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a privately owned veterinary hospital that has been independently owned since 2011 and is looking for a full-time or part-time Emergency Veterinarian to join their team. The hospital operates as a hybrid general practice and emergency hospital, allowing for smooth transitions for patients between GP and emergency care. The hospital treats cats, dogs, avians, exotics, and wildlife, with no previous exotic experience required as the team is happy to provide mentorship.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Emergency Veterinarian will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating emergency and critical patients, performing triage and stabilization, managing hospitalized patients, performing emergency surgical procedures when required, and communicating with clients. Doctors work three 12-hour shifts consisting of a mixture of day, swing, and night shifts. The hospital is also open to discussing a position that does not include night shifts. The hospital is looking for an experienced veterinarian and is also happy to consider an experienced doctor looking to transition into emergency medicine, with support available to help with this transition. A dedicated on-call doctor is available to provide support and mentorship, including assistance with challenging surgeries and cases.
Practice Details
The emergency side of the hospital operates 24/7 and has been AAHA accredited since 2012. The hospital provides emergency medicine, while the general practice side offers wellness and preventative medicine, surgery, dentistry, diagnostics, acupuncture, and laser therapy. The hospital is equipped with an in-house diagnostic laboratory, digital radiography, laser surgery capabilities, F.A.S.T. scan, K-Laser, CT, ultrasound, and IDEXX equipment. The hospital also utilizes AI note-taking technology.
