Systems & Virtualization Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Systems & Virtualization Engineer to manage, maintain, and optimize enterprise infrastructure, virtualization platforms, server environments, backup systems, and cloud services. The role involves ensuring the availability, performance, security, and resilience of critical business applications, ERP/CRM platforms, investor portals, and digital services.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with VMware virtualization, Windows Server administration, Microsoft Azure, enterprise storage, backup and disaster recovery, and hybrid infrastructure management. The engineer will collaborate remotely with internal IT teams, datacenter providers, vendors, and managed service partners to ensure reliable infrastructure operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter environments.
• Manage virtual machine provisioning, migration, upgrades, performance tuning, and lifecycle management.
• Configure and maintain VMware HA, DRS, vMotion, Storage vMotion, and clustering services.
• Monitor resource utilization, optimize virtualized workloads, and perform capacity planning.
• Support infrastructure hosting business applications, investor portals, corporate websites, ERP/CRM systems, and internal collaboration platforms.
• Ensure the availability and reliability of systems supporting business operations and digital services.
• Coordinate with datacenter personnel and vendors for infrastructure upgrades, maintenance, and incident resolution.
• Support application implementations, infrastructure migrations, and digital transformation initiatives.
• Assist with business continuity planning for mission-critical services.

3. Server Administration

• Administer Windows Server and Linux server environments.
• Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, file services, and identity services.
• Perform server patching, upgrades, troubleshooting, and operating system hardening.
• Ensure server configurations comply with organizational security standards.
• Support Microsoft Azure and hybrid cloud environments.
• Manage cloud compute, networking, storage, and identity services.
• Assist with cloud migrations, workload optimization, and infrastructure integration.
• Implement and maintain cloud-based disaster recovery solutions.

5. Storage, Backup & Disaster Recovery

• Manage backup and recovery solutions, including Veeam Backup & Replication and Azure Backup.
• Conduct backup validation, restoration testing, and disaster recovery drills.
• Maintain backup retention policies and ensure recovery objectives are met.
• Monitor infrastructure performance, availability, and system health using enterprise monitoring tools.
• Resolve infrastructure incidents, alerts, and service requests within agreed SLAs.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive measures.
• Coordinate with vendors and stakeholders during critical incidents.

7. Security & Compliance

• Implement infrastructure security best practices and system hardening standards.
• Support vulnerability remediation, patch compliance, and security assessments.
• Ensure infrastructure compliance with organizational cybersecurity policies.
• Assist with audits, compliance reporting, and collaboration with cybersecurity teams.

8. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain infrastructure diagrams, configuration records, asset inventories, and standard operating procedures.
• Document system changes, incidents, backup procedures, and disaster recovery processes.
• Prepare infrastructure health, performance, utilization, and capacity reports.
• Maintain accurate business continuity and disaster recovery documentation.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

Experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience in systems administration and virtualization engineering.
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience administering enterprise VMware environments.
• Proven experience supporting hybrid cloud and enterprise infrastructure.
• Experience coordinating remotely with IT teams, vendors, and managed service providers.
