We are looking for a CA to join our Succession Planning team. The role will involve working on succession and estate planning for business families and HNIs, with a focus on designing structures that are aligned with the family's philosophy, business objectives, wealth profile and long-term succession goals .

Candidates are not expected to have expertise across all areas at the outset ; the ability and willingness to learn, research and work across legal, regulatory and practical aspects will be important

What will you do

• Designing succession strategies for operating businesses, passive income assets, artwork or charities.
• Assist in evaluating and structuring Wills, private trusts, family arrangements, gifts, partition arrangements, Family charters and other succession structures.
• Understand the family's objectives and future plans and evaluate how the proposed succession structure should be aligned with them.
• Assist in succession planning and analysing business continuity, ownership succession and management succession, including the requirements of different family members and generations.
• Assist with structures involving NRIs/non-resident trustees or beneficiaries, foreign trusts, overseas foundations and foreign assets, including Indian tax and FEMA implications.
• Support the team in understanding the broad implications of overseas succession laws, taxation and estate / inheritance tax regimes where relevant.
• Assist in drafting and reviewing trust deeds, Wills, family arrangements, shareholder agreements, family charters and related documents.
• Prepare presentations, technical notes and client-facing material and assist in family / client meetings.
• Support implementation of structures, including coordination for registrations, KYC, PAN/TAN, bank/demat accounts, nominations, asset transfers and related documentation.

Important: Candidates are not expected to know all the above laws and regulations at the time of joining. The role involves working with a broader team of tax, legal, regulatory and transaction specialists. The key requirement is the ability to understand the client's objective, identify the relevant issues and develop the appropriate structure with the team.
