Compensation is customized based on experience, credentials, and travel eligibility and will be discussed prior to district submission.

School Social Worker – School-Based Responsibilities

• Conduct social-emotional assessments and social histories to identify student strengths, needs, and barriers to learning.
• Provide individual and group counseling to support students' social, emotional, behavioral, and academic success.
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized goals and interventions in collaboration with school teams.
• Participate in evaluations, IEP meetings, and Section 504 planning as appropriate to the assigned role.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and related service providers to support student engagement and progress.
• Provide crisis intervention and support according to district procedures and professional scope of practice.
• Connect students and families with community resources and coordinate services to address identified needs.
• Support attendance improvement, positive peer relationships, conflict resolution, and school adjustment.
• Consult with school staff and families on strategies that promote student well-being and a positive school environment.
• Maintain timely, accurate documentation and protect student confidentiality in accordance with applicable requirements, district policies, and professional ethical standards.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program.
• Active Connecticut (CT) school social worker certification (CSDE 071) and Active CT Social Worker license
• Previous school-based social work experience is required.
• Experience providing counseling, conducting social-emotional assessments, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
• Familiarity with IEP processes, crisis intervention, and community resource coordination.
• Strong communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
