Job Description

Role Overview

The position Manager Civil is responsible to lead overall planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale civil construction projects such as high-rise residential and institutional developments. The position involves close coordination with design architects and other consultants, contractors, and project management teams to ensure all works are executed within approved budgets, timelines, and institutional quality standards.


Principle Accountability & Responsibility


1. Project Planning, Coordination & Execution.

a) Lead and manage the end-to-end core experience for execution of high-rise institutional civil projects from concept to handover.

b) Prepare and monitor project schedules, milestones, and budgets in coordination with team.

c) Ensure timely mobilization of resources, materials, and manpower as per project requirements.

d) Review design drawings, GFCs, and construction documents for technical feasibility and accuracy.

e) Review BOQ’S and specifications of civil project works in close co-ordination with project team, architect and consultant and with end users.

f) Prepare detailed cost estimates, BOQs, and rate analyses for civil project works as per the norms/IS Standards.

g) Ensure adherence to technical specifications, construction standards, and quality control measures.

h) Conduct regular site inspections and audits to monitor workmanship and safety compliance.

i) Monitor daily civil project works progress in line with scheduled time line chart.

j) Resolve design, contractual, and site-related issues promptly in close consultation with architect, contractor and team.

k) Monitor project costs, identify variances, and implement corrective actions to ensure cost optimization.

l) Certify contractor bills and manage change orders/variations effectively.

m) Develop project execution strategies, schedules, and resource plans.

n) Review material submittals, and technical documentation for compliance with project specifications.

2. Tendering and Procurement Support

a) Review of tender BOQ’S along with technical specifications and Drawings of civil project works in line with requirements.

b) Support the evaluation of pre-qualification bids and tender submissions.

c) Maintain a structured tender database for future reference and institutional use.

d) Coordinate with external Architect, consultant, vendors and internal stakeholders and project team.

e) Handling and monitor Procurement scheduled items as per project requirement by contractors.

3. Budget and Cost Control

a) Prepare and manage project budgets, cost estimates, and cash flow projections.

b) Monitor project costs, identify variances, and implement corrective actions to ensure cost optimization.

c) Review contractor claims, variation orders, and Extension of Time (EOT) requests.

d) Certify interim and final bills of vendors / contractors in coordination with the project and finance teams.

4. Quality and Safety Compliance.

a) Ensure all civil project works comply with local building codes, safety standards, and environmental regulations.

b) Coordinate with authorities for necessary permits, inspections, and approvals.

c) Review and approve engineering drawings, BOQs, and technical specifications

d) Implement quality assurance plans and ensure compliance with industry standards (IS Codes, NBC, etc.).

e) Ensure strict adherence to HSE standards and site safety protocols.

f) Enforce safety protocols, ensuring zero-incident construction sites.

g) Ensure all statutory and environmental compliances are met.

5. Team Leader ship & Coordination.

a) Lead and mentor site engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors to achieve project goals.

b) Foster a culture of safety, quality, and accountability within the project team.

c) Promote innovation and adoption of best construction practices and new technologies.

6. Documentation and Reporting

a) Prepare weekly/monthly progress visual reports for management review.

b) Maintain complete documentation of design revisions, approvals, and commissioning certificates.


Qualification & Experience


  • B.E. / B. Tech (Civil) Experience 15~17 years , with at least 10 years in management for large-scale institutional or high-rise projects.
  • Proven experience in managing end-to-end Project packages exceeding ₹100 crore (or equivalent scale).
  • Strong understanding of integrated building services design and modern construction technologies (Mivan formwork, Redi mix concrete, high pressure pump concrete, concrete through batching plant and boom placer etc)
