Role Description The Senior GST Assistant role is a full-time, on-site position based in Surat. This role involves managing day-to-day GST compliance activities, including preparation and filing of GST returns, reconciliation of GST data with books of accounts, and ensuring timely submissions. The Senior GST Assistant will review and verify tax invoices, input tax credit details, and assist in handling GST audits, notices, and assessments. The role also includes maintaining accurate documentation, supporting clients with queries related to GST, and coordinating with internal teams to resolve discrepancies. The individual will contribute to process improvements, stay updated on GST regulations, and help train junior team members as needed. Qualifications Strong knowledge of GST laws, rules, and regulations, including return filing, input tax credit, and compliance procedures. Proficiency in accounting principles, GST-related reconciliations, and working with accounting or ERP software. Ability to analyze financial data, identify discrepancies, and prepare clear working papers and reports. Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple client compliance deadlines. Effective written and verbal communication skills for interacting with clients, tax authorities, and internal stakeholders. Experience in a tax or accounting firm in a GST-focused role; prior supervisory or senior-level responsibility is an advantage. Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certifications in taxation are preferred.
