Mercy is seeking a Surgical Technologist First Assist to support surgeons and nurses in high-acuity operating rooms. You will prepare OR suites, ensure sterile technique, position and drape patients, and directly assist during procedures with retraction, suction, hemostasis, and suturing within scope. The role includes instrument and equipment setup, sponge and instrument counts, and accurate documentation. You’ll collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia, and nursing teams, precept newer staff, and uphold Mercy’s standards of safety, compassion, and patient-centered care while supporting continuous quality improvement.
