Job Title: Virtual Medical Assistant (VMA)

Location: Office (Mohali) / 5 Days (Night Shift)

About the Role:

We are looking for a dependable and detail-oriented Virtual Medical Assistant (VMA) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will manage patient communications, maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR), coordinate prior authorizations, and provide day-to-day administrative support to providers. This role plays a key part in ensuring smooth operations and exceptional patient service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary point of contact for patient calls regarding appointments, medications, lab results, and general inquiries.
• Maintain and update patient records in the EHR system with accuracy and confidentiality.
• Coordinate prescription refills and manage prior authorizations for medications, treatments, and procedures.
• Support physicians and nurses with documentation, scheduling, and coordination with home health and DME services.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies.
• Provide patient education and assist with understanding treatment plans and insurance coverage.

Qualifications:

• Education: Associate degree or certification in medical assisting.
• Experience: 1-2 years in a medical administrative or assistant role (virtual experience preferred). Hands-on experience with EHR systems (EPIC, Cerner, AthenaHealth, ECW) and prior authorization processes highly desirable.
