Material Handler 1st Shift

<p>We have an immediate opportunity for a Material Handler 1. In this function you will be responsible for loading, unloading and moving material throughout the plant and manually or by operating electric powered lifts. Pay Range starting at $17.50 an hour </p><h2>RESPONSIBILITIES:</h2> • Move stock and other materials to and from storage and production areas by hand or other equipment • Convey materials to or from storage or work sites to designated area, using hand truck, electric dolly, wheelbarrow, or other device. • Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments, material and equipment needs • Count, weigh and record number of units of materials moved or handled on a daily production sheet. • Attach identifying labels to containers, and/or mark them with identifying information • Stack or assemble materials into bundles and bands bundles together, using banding machine or clincher Lift heavy objects by hand or using power hoist and clean work area, machines, and equipment using broom, rags, and cleaning compounds to assist machine operators. <ul><li>Assists other workers with specific tasks as requested</li><li>Follow plant quality practices including Good Manufacturing Practices, or</li></ul> GMP’s • Supports the Plant’s Food Safety initiatives by completing plant required Food Safety training and by implementing / complying with the required practices. <ul><li>Follows plant safety procedures and guidelines</li><li>Know emergency procedures and what to do in the event of power outages,</li></ul> machine failures, workplace injuries, etc. <ul><li>Wears and utilizes personal protective equipment (PPE) as required</li><li>Understand and identifies Lock-out/Tag-out procedures</li><li>Informs supervisor of safety issues; reports any workplace injury or incident</li></ul> immediately • Actively participates in the D&amp;W safety improvement process/activities, e.g. Hazard Identification, Safety Suggestions, Safety Teams, etc. <h2>BENEFITS:</h2> We offer a competitive salary &amp; comprehensive benefit package which includes: <ul><li>Medical</li><li>Dental</li><li>Vision</li><li>Wellness program</li><li>401K with company match</li></ul> <h2>• STD/LTD</h2> <ul><li>Company paid Life Insurance</li><li>FSA (Medical &amp; Dependent care)</li><li>Employee Assistance Program</li><li>Plus more!</li></ul> <p></p>
