Job Description

Position: Audio Visual Technician Location: O.P. Jindal Global University, Sonipat, Haryana About the Role O.P. Jindal Global University is looking for a skilled and proactive Audio Visual Technician to support the installation, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Audio Visual systems across the campus. The role involves ensuring seamless AV support for classrooms, conference rooms, auditoriums, seminars, webinars, and university events while delivering an excellent user experience for faculty, staff, students, and guests. Key Responsibilities AV Operations and Technical Support Install, configure, operate, and maintain Audio Visual equipment across classrooms, meeting rooms, auditoriums, and event venues. Set up and test projectors, LED displays, microphones, speakers, amplifiers, mixers, cameras, podium systems, and video conferencing equipment before events and classes. Provide on site technical support during lectures, conferences, seminars, webinars, workshops, and university events. Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues related to AV systems. Ensure all AV systems are fully functional before scheduled sessions. Video Conferencing Support Configure and support virtual meetings using Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Webex, Google Meet, and similar platforms. Assist faculty and staff with virtual classrooms, hybrid learning sessions, and online events. Monitor audio and video quality during live sessions and resolve issues promptly. Equipment Maintenance Perform routine inspection, preventive maintenance, and testing of AV equipment. Maintain inventory of AV equipment, accessories, cables, adapters, and spare parts. Report equipment failures and coordinate repairs or replacements when required. Ensure AV equipment is stored, handled, and maintained according to manufacturer guidelines. Event Support Provide complete AV support for university events, conferences, guest lectures, cultural programs, and official ceremonies. Install and dismantle AV equipment before and after events. Ensure smooth operation of sound, projection, lighting integration, and presentation systems during events. Documentation and Compliance Maintain service logs, maintenance records, and equipment inventory. Document technical issues and resolutions for future reference. Follow university safety procedures and AV operational standards. Qualifications Education Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, Communication Engineering, or a related field. Experience 2 to 5 years of experience as an audio-visual technician or in a similar AV support role. Experience in educational institutions, corporate offices, hospitality, or event management will be an advantage. Technical Skills Hands-on experience with projectors, LED displays, microphones, speakers, amplifiers, mixers, PTZ cameras, and audio processors. Experience supporting Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Webex, and Google Meet. Basic knowledge of networking related to AV devices. Ability to diagnose and resolve common AV hardware and software issues. Familiarity with HDMI, VGA, DisplayPort, USB, audio cabling, and signal routing. Preferred Certifications AVIXA CTS Certification is preferred. Any certification in Audio Visual systems, networking, or IT support will be an advantage.
