Job Description
Primary responsibilities are construction and dismantling of scaffolding. Include determining amount of materials, identifying appropriate construction locations and transporting scaffolding materials. 2.0 REPORTS TO / SUPERVISES Reports To: Scaffolding Foreman, Shop Superintendent Supervises: N/A 3.0 RESPONSIBILITIES This position will have the following general/minimum responsibilities:Unloading scaffolding equipment on site.Setting down base plates on the ground at regular intervals and putting up the scaffolding polies (standards) and fixing the horizontal tubes (ledgers) to them with couples.Fixing the scaffolding to the structure to make it more stable, using short tie tubes.Laying planks (battens) across the scaffolding for workers to walk on.Fixing guard rails and safety netting.Taking down the scaffolding after a job is finished.Understand and follow strict safety policies and procedures; especially as it relates to scaffolding.4.0 EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE The following education, experience and knowledge are preferred for this position:High School Diploma or its equivalent, and/or Trade School.Two to four years of experience in a shop environment.Knowledge and compliance with all safety policies and procedures regarding scaffolding.Must know basic math and be able to follow instructions.
