About Logansport State Hospital: Logansport State Hospital is a state-operated inpatient psychiatric hospital for adults with mental illness. Using an interdisciplinary approach and evidence-based programming, we promote recovery and return of the individual to the community. Salary: The salary for this position traditionally starts at $62,218.00 but may be commensurate with education and work experience. • Prioritize and organize the daily care of patients/
• Make care assignments and assist in developing treatment plans in collaboration with other clinical staff.
• Direct support staff to coordinate workflow and communicate problems to unit supervisors.
• Complete required documentation of nursing notes, transfer forms, and other records to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
• Provide orientation and support to staff on the unit.

• Provide ongoing assessment and documentation of individuals' physical and psychosocial status from admission to discharge to inform care decisions.
• Administer medications and treatments according to facility policies and procedures..
• Develop and implement nursing care plans for diagnosis or treatment plan changes to adapt to evolving needs.
• Complete medication administration supervision monitors and clinical observation notes for support staff.
• Educate individuals and family members regarding medication, procedures, and treatment goals and objectives.
• Respond and intervene in emergency situations and with agitated individuals to maintain safety and therapeutic environment.
• Ensure proper safety and infection control standards are met for the unit to protect staff and individuals.

• Ability to understand and apply medical and facility terminology.
• Knowledge of and ability to interpret nursing and facility policies and procedures.
• Effective interpersonal skills, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to serve as a patient advocate.
• Ability to respond effectively in emergency situations and maintain composure under pressure.
• Ability to support individuals with behavioral or emotional needs.
• Proficiency in computer skills and ability to learn programs used in maintaining electronic medical records.
• Ability to use MS Office applications and electronic patient records.
