Description:Our client is seeking a Senior Interior Designer with 5+ years of experience in commercial workplace interiors to join their New York team in a project-based position. This role focuses on interior architecture and workplace design and requires a strong combination of design, technical, and project leadership experience.The ideal candidate will have experience leading projects from programming through construction administration, developing workplace strategies, and producing high-quality construction documentation for sophisticated corporate environments.
Responsibilities:Lead commercial workplace interior projects from programming through construction administrationDevelop space plans, test fits, and design concepts for workplace environmentsGuide design direction and evaluate solutions based on client goals and project requirementsSelect and specify materials, finishes, furniture, and interior systemsProduce and oversee construction documentation, including plans, elevations, and detailed drawingsCoordinate with architects, consultants, and project teams throughout all project phasesSupport project execution while maintaining high standards of design and technical excellenceParticipate in workplace strategy discussions and research emerging industry trends
Required:5+ years of experience in commercial interior design or interior architecture, preferably workplace interiorsStrong experience with construction documents and interior detailingAutoCAD requiredRevit requiredRevit-based 3D modeling and rendering experience, such as Enscape or similarExperience working on built commercial interior projects, not solely conceptual design workStrong hand-sketching and conceptual visualization skillsAdobe Photoshop and InDesignExcellent xzbcwsv presentation, communication, and project coordination skillsStrong understanding of workplace planning and commercial interior detailing
Preferred:Experience developing workplace strategies for corporate clientsFamiliarity with hybrid workplace planning, utilization trends, and activity-based work environmentsInterest in emerging workplace trends and best practicesLEED AP and/or WELL AP accreditation
Education:Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field preferred.
