Arconic is seeking a Quality Laboratory Technician to join our Aluminum Extrusion (AEX) business unit in Lafayette, IN .

RESPONSIBILITIES

Profile: The primary purpose of this role is to provide laboratory testing to support operation of the Lafayette manufacturing process.

Essential Functions: The Quality Laboratory Technician within AEX requires technical and interpersonal skills essential to teamwork. General duties for the Quality Laboratory Technician include but are not limited to:
Supporting the control and developmental activities in regard to the Production and Metallurgical departments.
Accurately, effectively, and efficiently providing test results with being quality conscious.

QUALIFICATIONS

Basic Qualifications:

Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution
A minimum of 2-5 years of manufacturing experience or experience in a laboratory environment
Willing to work 2nd or 3rd shift
Must have applicable experience solving problems and understanding customer specifications and procedures
Knowledgeable of Microsoft Office
Ability to review and interpret data
Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulation (ITAR), which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. Green Card Holder), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Preferred Qualifications:
A minimum of 2 years of manufacturing experience or experience in a laboratory environment
Single point accountability in regard to writing, maintaining, and controlling certain measurement assurance manuals and processes relative to various physical-testing procedures used within the laboratory
Training other laboratory technicians in the operation of test equipment and procedures pertaining to assigned processes.
Experience in sawing, machining, testing and chemical analysis
Knowledgeable to monitor and maintain control charts critical to sustaining AS9100 and Nadcap certification
Understanding the importance of laboratory cleanliness and safety requirements
Able to be self-sufficient in a fast-paced environment to achieve departmental and plant goals
