Director of Operations
Insight Global · India
Job Description
Position Summary
Insight Global's India operations are growing quickly, and that growth has generated an opportunity for a new global leader. The Director of Operations for India owns two connected mandates: the physical and commercial infrastructure of our India footprint — workspace, real estate, facilities, vendors, project management and procurement — and the cross-divisional solutioning of complex client requirements that will require a strategic leader to bring the right people to the table, review the needs and design solutions to support the client needs.
This is a build-and-run role. You will inherit a footprint that works today and is outgrowing itself, and you will be expected to plan and strategize with partners on future space capacity while institutionalizing how we select, contract with, and hold accountable the vendors we depend on. This role will work with US counterparts in Vendor Management, Strategic Sourcing, Onboarding and Facilities. In parallel, you will be the person in the business that brings expertise, the right partners and solutions to the table. Client requirements will need Finance, Legal, Payroll, and Onboarding all at once — and this role will be expected to come back with options, costs, risks, and a recommendation.
The role reports to the VP of Global Operations, with a dotted-line reporting relationship to the General Manager, Consulting India. You will set direction and standards through Global Operations while staying tightly aligned to in-market commercial priorities — the GM is a partner in day-to-day prioritization and a stakeholder in your outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Complex Client Requirements & Cross-Divisional Solutioning
- Serve as the operations point of contact for complex or non-standard client requirements in the India market — the requests that do not fit an existing playbook and cannot be answered by any single function alone.
- Convene and lead working groups across Finance, Legal, Payroll, and Onboarding to pressure-test what is possible, what it costs, what it exposes us to, and how long it takes.
- Translate client asks into viable operational options, each with cost, risk, compliance implications, and delivery timeline made explicit, and present back a clear recommendation rather than a menu.
- Real Estate Strategy & Workspace Planning
- Own the India workspace footprint end to end: assist in site selection, work with partners on market analysis, lease negotiation support, fit-out, seating design, and expansion or consolidation decisions.
- Partner with Real Estate and Finance on lease economics, capital planning, and multi-year footprint recommendations.
- Manage build-out and relocation projects to schedule, budget, and business-continuity requirements.
Facilities Operations
- Own day-to-day facilities performance across all India sites: maintenance, housekeeping, utilities, transport, cafeteria, reception, and workplace experience.
- Own physical security and workplace health and safety in partnership with Security and Legal, including statutory facilities obligations such as building codes, fire safety, disaster recover and Shops & Establishments requirements.
Vendor Management & Procurement
- Own the India vendor portfolio across facilities, workspace, transport, equipment, and site services: sourcing, RFPs, selection, and onboarding.
- Run structured vendor performance reviews and act on the results — remediate, re-tender, or exit.
- Align India procurement practice to global standards and controls, flagging where local market reality requires a documented exception.
People Leadership
- Lead, coach, and grow the India facilities and vendor management team; build clear ownership and bench strength. Coach and mentor the cross divisional partners to drive cohesive and comprehensive solutions.
- Set measurable goals, hold the team accountable to service levels, and develop successors.
Qualifications
Required
- 10+ years of Operations experience that has led, cross functional teams such as vendor management, strategic sourcing, and facilities management
- 5+ years of operations experience with a meaningful concentration in corporate real estate, facilities management, or workplace services in India.
- 5+ years leading teams, including managing outsourced or vendor-delivered service teams.
- Experience operating in a global matrix — reporting into a global function while serving in-country commercial leadership.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional problem solving with Finance, Legal, Payroll, and HR/Onboarding partners, and to drive a group without authority over it to a decision and a date.
- Proven skill translating complex or non-standard client requirements into workable operational solutions, with cost, risk, and timeline made explicit.
- Confident presenting options and tradeoffs to senior internal stakeholders and to clients.
- Strong analytical skills; able to build and defend capacity, cost, and scenario models.
- Excellent written and verbal English; credible with global executives and with frontline site teams alike.
Preferred
- Multi-site or multi-city India footprint experience.
- Staffing, consulting, professional services, or including the setup and management of clean rooms.
- Experience supporting client-driven audit and security requirements (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2, client-specific site controls).
- Experience scaling a footprint through a period of rapid headcount growth.
