  • Full Time, 40 hours weekly
  • M-F 9:00am-5:30pm (flexible); evening shifts due to events as needed
  • $50,000-54,000/annually
Job Description
  • Assists in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and evaluating the activity programs of the facility.
  • Participates in planned community activities (outings) related to the interests of the facility and the services and needs of the residents.
  • Coordinates and plans events including scheduling, room reservations, catering requests, room setup, and technical requirements.
  • Provides ongoing activities (group and self directed) throughout scheduled workday.
  • Ensures that external performers, entertainers, meetings, and events that are scheduled on campus align with strategic vision of the community, under the direction of the Arts Administrator.
  • Ensures that residents are offered a variety of activities that promote social, spiritual, physical, and cognitive functioning and are given the choice of attendance.
Qualifications Experience:
  • Minimum one (1) year of Therapeutic Activities, Therapeutic Recreation or equivalent experience (through volunteer work, internship, or paid experience) preferably with geriatric residents in a long term care setting.
  • Bachelors in Therapeutic Recreation, BS or BA preferred, or equivalent experience (through volunteer work, internship, or paid experience) preferably with geriatric residents in a long term care setting.
Specific Requirements:
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies / personnel and the general public.
