Job Type: Full time Exempt/Non Exempt: Hourly Job Description: Location Details: This is an on-site position located at 7315 Cross County Road North Charleston, SC 29418. Position Schedule/Shift: Must be available to work a flexible schedule, which may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime based on business needs and member demand. Position Summary: Join our team as a Service Vehicle Operator and be the hero our AAA members rely on when they need help most. You’ll respond to service calls, assist stranded motorists with services like jump-starts, tire changes, and lockouts, and safely tow vehicles when needed. This role combines hands-on problem solving, customer care, and safe driving, all while working independently on the road. If you enjoy helping people, staying active, and making a real difference each day, this is the job for you. Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to roadside assistance requests from AAA members using a tow truck or service vehicle.
- Provide emergency roadside services, including tire changes, fuel delivery, battery testing and installation, jump starts, lockout assistance, and minor mechanical adjustments.
- Safely tow disabled vehicles following established procedures and towing guidelines.
- Verify AAA membership and deliver outstanding customer service during every interaction.
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip DOT inspections and report vehicle maintenance concerns.
- Maintain a clean and professional service vehicle.
- Utilize tablets and electronic devices to manage calls, update service requests, and access towing procedures.
- Accurately document daily activities, service calls, vehicle logs, and receipts.
- Maintain DOT certification and an acceptable driving record.
- Achieve goals related to member satisfaction, safety, productivity, and battery services.
- Support community and special AAA events as needed.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid state driver's license with minimal driving infractions/incidents.
- Must successfully pass drug screening, motor vehicle record review, criminal background check, and DOT physical examination. (pre-employment and ongoing).
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in the field.
- Comfortable using GPS, mobile technology, tablets, and electronic applications.
- Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to read and interpret roadside service procedures and member benefits.
- Basic math and recordkeeping skills.
- Ability to successfully complete AAA training programs.
- Commitment to safety and teamwork.
- Prior experience providing roadside assistance services such as battery testing, jump starts, lockout assistance, fuel delivery, or tire changes.
- Previous tow truck driving experience.
- Experience operating wheel-lift, flatbed, or dolly towing equipment.
- Commercial driving experience.
- Automotive knowledge or mechanical aptitude
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Hourly rates starting at $21.00 per hour
- Overtime opportunities paid at time-and-a-half.
- Shift differentials: 5% premium for hours worked between 5:00 PM - 11:00 PM/10% premium for hours worked between 11:00 PM - 5:00 AM
- $1,000 Sign-On Bonus, paid in installments at 90 and 180 days of employment. **To qualify for the Sign-On Bonus, applicants must be new to ACG. Additional details can be provided by our Recruiting Team at the time of application**

Part-time employee PTO hours are calculated based upon the standard weekly hours the employee is scheduled to work and will accrue at a minimum of 3 hours per month.
