Laboratory Manager - Drilling Fluids

Location: Chennai Department: R&D - Laboratory / Drilling Fluids Testing Experience: 7 - 16 Years CTC Range: 8 - 15 LPA Qualification: M.Sc. (Chemistry)/B.E. (Chemical Engineering/Petrochemical Engineering) Job Responsibilities: Perform laboratory testing and evaluation of drilling fluids using standard testing procedures and instruments. Conduct hot rolling, rheological, filtration, electrical stability, mud density, and aging tests for drilling fluids. Operate laboratory equipment such as roller ovens, viscometers, mixers, filtration units, aging cells, and weighing balances. Record, analyze, and document test results accurately in laboratory reports. Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure proper calibration and safe operation. Follow laboratory safety guidelines and standard operating procedures. Coordinate test activities independently, as the laboratory operates separately from the R&D facility. Provide technical support and share test data with internal teams when required. Required Skills: Hands-on experience in drilling fluids testing (oil-based and water-based systems). Proficiency in laboratory instruments used for mud testing and analysis. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Good written and verbal communication skills. Willingness to travel as per job requirements.
