Koehler, Ruxer, Walker & Co., LLC is an established CPA firm with over 30 years in business located on the north side of Indianapolis. We are seeking an experienced CPA to join our team and provide tax return review and complex tax preparation support, primarily during our busy tax season.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced tax professional who enjoys tax work and client relationships and is seeking a flexible schedule without the demands of a traditional full-time public accounting position.
We understand that everyone's ideal work arrangement looks a little different and are open to tailoring the position, schedule, and responsibilities to create the right fit for both the candidate and our firm.
Position DetailsIn-office position at our northside Indianapolis locationFlexible schedule during traditional tax busy seasons, generally 20–40 hours per weekOff-season scheduling flexibility, with the option for seasonal or year-round involvement
Key ResponsibilitiesReview federal and state tax returns, including business (partnerships, S corporations, and C corporations), individual, and trust income tax returnsPrepare more complex tax returns as neededResearch tax issues and provide practical recommendationsAssist with tax planning and advisory services as neededCommunicate directly with clients to gather information, answer questions, and resolve tax mattersCollaborate with team members to meet deadlines and maintain high-quality client service
QualificationsBachelor's or Master’s degree in AccountingActive CPA license requiredMinimum of 5 years of public accounting tax experience; additional experience preferredStrong technical knowledge of business, individual, and trust income taxationExperience preparing and reviewing complex tax returnsAbility to work independently and manage multiple deadlinesExcellent attention to detail, communication, and problem-solving skillsExperience with CCH ProSystem fx Tax is a plus
