Forward Deployed Software Engineer (Full Stack)

Employment type: Contract, 12 months to start, with strong opportunity to extend

Pay rate: $65-$75/hour, depending on experience

Location: Indianapolis, IN preferred. Hybrid or remote may be considered for the right candidate

About the Opportunity

Brooksource Technology Services is hiring a Forward Deployed Software Engineer (Full Stack) to support an Integrated Risk Analytics team at a leading pharmaceutical company in Indianapolis, IN. You'll join a small, high-performing group of analytics and technology professionals building a modern web application that helps the team track and manage risk, document ownership, and stakeholder relationships across the business. This is a pilot with real room to grow: if it succeeds, the solution will scale to a much larger audience.

In this role you'll own the build and delivery of the application, working side by side with business stakeholders to turn a working prototype into a polished, production-ready product. Shipping valuable features quickly is the top priority, and you'll have real ownership from front end through deployment.

What You'll Do

• Own the application end to end: React front end, APIs, relational data model, and deployment.
• Partner directly with analytics and risk operations stakeholders to translate needs into shipped features.
• Build core functionality including authentication and role-based access.
• Containerize and deploy the application using Docker and Kubernetes on AWS.
• Collaborate with an AI engineer, data engineers, and an analytics architect on integrations and design.
• Use Claude Code and Git-based workflows to move fast and maintain quality.

What You'll Bring

• Strong full-stack web development experience, including React and modern JavaScript or TypeScript.
• Experience designing APIs and relational data models.
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS.
• Experience using AI coding tools such as Claude Code or similar.
• Track record of shipping independently in small teams with limited infrastructure support.
• Comfortable working directly with non-technical business stakeholders.
• Proficiency with Git and collaborative code review.

Nice to Have

• Experience in regulated industries such as pharma, healthcare, or finance.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric or Power BI.
• Exposure to risk, compliance, or audit domains.
