Job Description

Overview
Registered Nurse CVOR (Cardiac Operating Room) traveling assignment in Rochester, NY. Start date 09/14/2026 for 17 weeks. Shift: 12 hours, 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. Weekly pay range: $2,747-$2,968 per week. Assignment is in a cardiac operating room handling a broad adult Cardiac program including CABG, TAVR/TAVI, and advanced heart failure therapies (VADs, ECMO, artificial heart, and transplants). The nurse may circulate and scrub complex adult cardiac procedures; telemetry is used for patient monitoring.

Responsibilities
- Independently circulate complex adult cardiac cases, including CABG, structural heart procedures (Bentall, mini valve replacements), and high-acuity cases such as heart failure devices and transplant considerations; coordinate with the surgical team, perfusion, and anesthesia.
- Scrub for procedures as required; maintain sterile technique, equipment readiness, and instrument counts; ensure patient safety throughout the case.
- Monitor patient telemetry and vital signs, respond to hemodynamic changes, and communicate findings to the multidisciplinary team.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, perfusionists, and OR staff to optimize perioperative care and throughput.
- Participate in post-procedure care planning and handoffs to recovery areas, with attention to documentation and compliance with OR policies.
- Maintain BLS and ACLS readiness; adhere to hospital and regulatory guidelines for cardiac surgery cases.

Requirements
- Current NY RN license
- Minimum 2 years of operating room experience; level 1 trauma OR experience highly desired
- Ability to circulate and scrub in the cardiac OR
- Telemetry experience
- BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association)
- Eligible to work in a high-acuity cardiac OR setting; strong teamwork and communication skills
