Graphic Designer
Legend of Toys · Bengaluru, India
Job Description
WHO WE ARE
Legend of Toys (LOT) is a full stack D2C toys start-up out of India. We design and manufacture toys where
each product has a personality: a name, a backstory, a world it belongs to. We compete on identity, not price.
L.O.T Build is our build-and-collect business: kits and models you assemble by hand and then keep on a
shelf. Licensed worlds sit alongside our own India-first lines: architecture, space, defence, and how things
work. Every box carries an education layer: something to read, something to watch, a fact worth repeating at the dinner table. The format is deliberately open. We are starting with one manufacturing substrate, but the brand is not defined by it. Over time the line will run across materials, scales, price tiers, and formats, from entry kits to display-grade collectibles. What holds it together is the idea, not the material.
THE ROLE
You own how L.O.T Build looks everywhere it appears: on the box, in the feed, on a listing, on the site. You
report to the Brand Manager for L.O.T Build and work to the direction they set.
This is a junior role with unusually wide surface area. Packaging and print one day, ad creative the next, an
A+ module after that. You will not be siloed into a single format and you will not be handed only the leftovers. But you will need to move between very different kinds of design without letting the standard slip. You will be coached, properly and often; what we need from you is the appetite to be pushed.
One thing to be clear about: your remit is L.O.T Build, not all of Legend of Toys. LOT Cars and the wider
legendoftoys.com brand sit outside this role, though you will work closely alongside both.
HOW WE WORK · AI-FIRST
We are an AI-first creative team. Generative tools are part of how work actually gets made here, not a side
experiment and not something you use quietly. We expect you to reach for them first and to keep finding
better ones.
– Use AI to get further, faster: concepting and moodboards, generative imaging and backgrounds,
mockups, upscaling and cleanup, copy variants, and producing creative variants at volume
– The bar is not whether AI made it. The bar is whether it holds up. AI gets you to a draft. Your taste
and judgement get it to the standard
– Bring tools to the team rather than waiting to be trained on one. What you find, we adopt
– Know the limits: generated imagery that is almost right is worse than nothing on a box that goes to
print. Knowing when to draw it properly yourself is part of the skill
WHAT YOU WILL OWN
Packaging, Boxes & Inserts
– Design the physical product surface: box art, sleeves, and the education inserts that go inside every
kit
– Own print production properly: dielines, bleeds, colour profiles, and files a vendor can run without
emailing back
– Treat the insert as product rather than packaging. It is a large part of what makes the box worth
keeping
Performance & Social Creative
– Produce ad creative, statics, and carousels at the volume paid and organic actually need
– Design for the feed first: legible at thumb speed, still on-brand at full size
– Iterate off what is winning instead of starting from a blank artboard every time
Marketplace & Web
– Own A+ content, listing imagery, and brand store assets across marketplaces
– Support design for the line's web surfaces: landing pages, launch pages, and campaign moments
– Hold the quality line from ad to listing to product page, so the brand does not thin out downstream
Brand Identity & Systems
– Help the Brand Manager build the L.O.T Build identity system (type, colour, layout, and sub-brand
treatments), then apply it rigorously across everything you touch
– Build and maintain templates, master files, and asset libraries so repeat work gets faster over time
– Flag inconsistency when you spot it, including in work that is not your own
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Experience
– 2 - 4 years in graphic design, whether in-house or agency, or a portfolio strong enough to make the
years irrelevant
– Strong on typography, layout, and hierarchy: the fundamentals, not the filters
– Fluent in the Adobe suite and comfortable working in Figma
– Genuinely hands-on with AI design tools: whatever you have found that works, and an opinion about
why
– Print or packaging exposure is a real advantage; if you have never sent a dieline to a vendor, be
ready to learn that fast
The Person
– Obsessed with craft: notices the kerning, the misaligned edge, the one asset that does not match
– Fast without being sloppy, and clear that a launch date is a real date
– Takes direction well and asks the second question, not just the first
– Curious about tools, sceptical about hype, biased toward shipping
– Comfortable with ambiguity, fast timelines, and a brand that is still being built
WHY THIS ROLE
Most junior design jobs are one format on repeat. This one is a whole brand's surface area. You will touch the physical box, the ad, the listing, and the identity system itself, often in the same week. L.O.T Build is early enough that what you make now becomes what the brand looks like. You get real coaching from the person who owns it, an AI-first pipeline instead of a legacy one, and work that ships to a real market from week one. We are not a category player. We are trying to build something that has not been built in India before: a toy brand with a real identity, a real community, and products with personality. If that sounds like something worth building, we want to talk.
