OSP Field Inspector - Fiber Construction

TekCom Resources is seeking an experienced OSP Field Inspector to support broadband and fiber construction projects throughout Virginia. This field-based role involves monitoring subcontractor activities, inspecting construction quality, and ensuring work meets project specifications, safety standards, and scheduled deadlines.

ResponsibilitiesConduct field inspections of OSP construction, including excavation, directional boring, hand-hole placement, fiber installation, and restoration.Monitor subcontractor crews to ensure work meets construction plans, quality standards, and safety requirements.Review construction drawings and specifications to verify accurate installation.Inspect underground and aerial fiber construction, grounding, and related infrastructure.Document construction progress, inspection results, deficiencies, and site conditions through daily reports and photos.Identify construction issues, communicate concerns, and coordinate corrective actions with subcontractors and project management.Participate in project meetings and provide updates on construction progress, quality, and potential delays.
RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical training or certifications preferred.Experience in OSP telecommunications or fiber construction, inspection, or QA/QC.Knowledge of underground and/or aerial construction methods, including excavation, boring, cable placement, and restoration.Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical specifications.Strong attention to detail, documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills.Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and travel between job sites.Valid driver's license required.
